Prosperity University Classes Start Soon! We're going to have two groups running this semester.  Monday, September 7th - 6pm-8pm Saturday, September 12th - 9am-11am You are invited to join!

Life can present all sorts of financial challenges. From getting a job, getting laid off, getting married, getting divorced, buying a house, having children, saving for retirement; lots of things can throw us off track. In this group we will focus on habits, behaviors and knowledge that will help you become financially free. We will discuss everything necessary to stop stressing about money and start living the life God intended for us. How would you feel if you could stretch your paycheck, reduce your debts, ease conflicts over money, avoid financial traps and master investment basics?

These 13 week Financial Education classes that will focus on all the core competencies and biblical principles for you to become financially successful will be held as two groups:

Seeking Volunteers for "Keeping It Real" Program at Oak Mountain High School.

Oak Mountain High School freshman will get a perspective of what it cost to live in the adult world when the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce brings its ShelbyOne Initiative program "Keeping it Real" to the school on October 15 & 16
.
The first day students learn the difference between gross and net income and the importance of budgeting.

The second day students visit 12 stations with their income worksheets to pay bills that corresponded with expenses. Volunteers are needed on the second day only.

The program is co-sponsored by The UPS Store Caldwell Mill Road and Legacy Community Federal Credit Union.

Keyla Handley, Community and Workforce Development Director, is seeking volunteers for 1/2 - one day on Friday, October 16. Volunteers will manage a station (Ex: housing, groceries, clothing, insurance, education, child care, etc.) to assist 9th grade students as they "pay bills" and make "life choices" based on a random-assigned life scenario.

You are invited to a Mastermind Group study on “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership” by John Maxwell. This is a 10-week in-depth study that will afford you the opportunity to join forces and mastermind with a unique group of like-minded individuals who are focused on taking results in every area of their lives to a new level. Having the support and ideas from other focused and driven people allows us to see things differently and to get a new perspective on goals and action plans.

Together, we will learn how to effectively raise our leadership lid by understanding and implementing the principles of the 21 irrefutable laws of leadership.

Prosperity University Classes Start Soon! We're going to have two groups running this semester.  Monday, September 7th - 6pm-8pm Saturday, September 12th - 9am-11am You are invited to join!

Life can present all sorts of financial challenges. From getting a job, getting laid off, getting married, getting divorced, buying a house, having children, saving for retirement; lots of things can throw us off track. In this group we will focus on habits, behaviors and knowledge that will help you become financially free. We will discuss everything necessary to stop stressing about money and start living the life God intended for us. How would you feel if you could stretch your paycheck, reduce your debts, ease conflicts over money, avoid financial traps and master investment basics?

These 13 week Financial Education classes that will focus on all the core competencies and biblical principles for you to become financially successful will be held as two groups:

Monday evenings from 6pm-8pm
Saturday mornings from 9am-11am

In this 6-week class you and your puppies will learn the foundations of basic obedience including sit/down/stay/come and proper leash walking, as well as commands such as "drop it", "leave it" and "take it".

Greater Shelby Chamber Community Luncheon "State of the County" Presentation

Alex Dudchock Shelby County ManagerThe Chamber’s October “Community Luncheon” hosted by the Governmental Affairs Work Group will feature a “State of the County” presentation on October 28. The meeting, sponsored by Shelby County Newspapers, will be held in the banquet hall at the Pelham Civic Complex & Ice Arena. Doors will open at 11:00AM for business networking, the Showcase Feature which will be Shelby County and all of its municipalities and the program will begin promptly at 11:30AM.

In addition to the great business networking, we’ll also hear from Shelby County Manager Alex Dudchock on progress made last year and what’s in store for Shelby County in 2016.
