On June 6, the Chamber’s Go & Grow Workshop -- presented by Business Telephones, Inc. and co-sponsored by FocalPoint Coaching -- will be an interactive workshop featuring Michael Smith, the Chamber's Entrepreneur-in-Residence from The Great, The Good and The Gone.
Michael will be facilitating "hands on" interactive workshop on the how, what, when, where, why and how to of utilizing Linkedin. Building on the workshop held last month, topics covered during this hands-on and interactive workshop will expand on:
- How to tweak your profile to increase views.
- Target people you want to do business with,
- Building your connections the fast and smart way.
- Ways to “post”, “like”, “comment”, and “share” that build your business,
- and much more!
Space is limited to only 10 participants - must bring laptop and/ or tablet and be ready to actually work on your Linkedin profile.
The workshop will be held on Tuesday, June 6 from 11:30AM until 1:00PM at the Chamber, 1301 County Services Drive, Pelham.

The Entrepreneur Roundtable program is designed to provide hands-on assistance for small business owners. The Chamber’s Entrepreneur Roundtable I was established with business owners who meet each month.*
The Chamber’s Entrepreneur Roundtable program is part problem-solving, part information-gathering and contacts building. Participating business owners from non-competing companies meet for a confidential, peer-to-peer forum each month to gain valuable insights into others' successes and achievements, and learn how to avoid the pitfalls of their mistakes. The Roundtable program is exclusive for the single individual responsible for the direction of the company and with the authority to make final decisions.

Participants can gain valuable insights through monthly meetings with similar individuals from other companies. There is an application process for the two groups currently meeting and an additional annual expense which covers monthly breakfasts.

 The Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce is assisting the City of Columbiana with its 31st Annual Liberty Day Parade. The City of Columbiana began its annual Liberty Day festival in 1986 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty.
If you would like to have a float in the parade please click here to open and print the Parade Entry Registration Form and fax back to the Chamber at 663-4524. If you have questions contact Keyla Handley at the Chamber - 663-4542, ext. 106.
There will be vendors, tons of activities for children and at 3:00PM the Liberty Day Parade will begin. That night there will be live music, fireworks and the announcement of the Parade Winners at Shelby County High School’s Football Field.

June "Community Luncheon" To Feature Presentation on the "2018 US Women's Open" by John Coppins, Championship Manager
 The Chamber's June "Community Luncheon" will feature a presentation by John Coppins, Championship Manager of the 2018 U.S. Women's Open. Shoal Creek has been selected by the United States Golf Association to host the 2018 U.S. Women's Open Championship, May 31-June 3. Considered the world's premier women's golf championship, the U.S. Women's Open is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the USGA. It is open to professional female golfers and amateur females with a Handicap Index® not exceeding 2.4. The championship was first conducted in 1946 and boasts an impressive list of winners, including Babe Didrikson Zaharias, Betsy Rawls, Mickey Wright, Hollis Stacy, Amy Alcott, Meg Mallon, Annika Sorenstam, Se Ri Pak, Juli Inkster, Cristie Kerr and Paula Creamer, as well as two-time and defending champion Inbee Park.
The program, presented by Homewood Suites (Inverness) and co-sponsored by Graham and Associates, CPAs, will be held in the banquet hall at the Pelham Civic Complex & Ice Arena. Doors will open at 11:00AM for business networking and the program will begin promptly at 11:30AM.
In addition to the great business networking, recreational and tourism entities are encouraged to secure a table and participate in the Recreation and Tourism Showcase Feature mini-expo) being held during the networking hour.
