DESCRIPTION:Seeking Volunteers for "Keeping It Real" Program at Kingwood Christian School\n\n\n\nKingwood Christian School freshman will get a perspective of what it cost to live in the adult world when the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce brings its ShelbyOne Initiative program "Keeping it Real" to the school on October 5.\n\n\n\nThe first the students learn the difference between gross and net income and the importance of budgeting.Then the students visit 12 stations with their income worksheets to pay bills that corresponded with expenses. Volunteers are needed for the second part  only -- Friday\, October 5.\n\n\n\nThe program is presented by Thompson Tractor and co-sponsored by America's First Federal Credit Union\, AT&T and The UPS Store Caldwell Mill Road. Keyla Handley\, Community and Investor Development Director\, is seeking volunteers from 1:00PM-2:30PM on Friday\, October 5. Volunteers will manage a station (Ex: housing\, groceries\, clothing\, insurance\, education\, child care\, etc.) to assist 9th grade students as they "pay bills" and make "life choices" based on a random-assigned life scenario.\n\n\n\nIf you are interested in being a volunteer for the second part\, please call 663-4542 ext. 106 or email Keyla.\n\n\n\nVolunteers would arrive at 1:00PM and the program would conclude by 2:30PM.
