DESCRIPTION:Ornament Sale to Benefit Shelby Humane Society's Shelter Partners Program\n\n\n\nProgram Has Benefited Over 7\,000 Dogs Over Past 6 Years\n\n\n\nColumbiana\, AL\, December 5\, 2013 - You can be the difference in the life of a homeless dog this season by purchasing an ornament from Shelby Humane Society's Shelter Partners Program. Shelter Partners ornaments make great presents for yourself or that special someone on your gift list.\n\n\n\nEach ornament (retail price of $60) sponsors one dog's journey to near-empty animal shelters in northern states such as New Hampshire or Maine.  The ornaments feature the picture of one of the Shelby Humane Society's dogs in a decorative frame.\n\n\n\nOrnaments can be purchased at Whole Foods Market in Cahaba Village\, Hollywood Feed stores (Lee Branch and Cahaba Village) and the Shelby Humane Society shelter or online at www.shelter-partners.org.\n\n\n\nFounded in November 2006\, Shelter Partners moves pets from Shelby County\, which is experiencing extreme animal overpopulation\, to shelters in northern states where the success and enforcement of animal and spay and neuter laws and initiatives limit the number of pets available for adoption.\n\n\n\nShelby Humane Society works with a dedicated group of partner shelters to find new forever families for dogs being transported. Most dogs transferred are placed with adoptive families within a few days of becoming available for adoption at our partner shelters. Shelby Humane Society volunteers drive the Shelter Partners van up to 2-3 days to deliver the pets to the waiting shelters.
