SUMMARY:R.E.D. Challenge to Benefit Red Cross
DESCRIPTION:It's time to show the public and yourselves which city has the strongest SRT. Combat Fitness Training Facility\, along with the Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and the American Red Cross will be hosting the "R.E.D. CHALLENGE" tactical competition on Saturday April 23rd at Veteran's Park. This competition will involve two phases\;\n\n\n\n1) Individual Operator Phase. This will be a short but very intense event testing the individual operator's physical strength\, stamina and mental sharpness. Each competitor will go through the course\, ultimately crowning the overall fittest operator.\n\n\n\n2) Team Organic Phase. This phase will involve a 4-man team from each municipality competing together in an event that will test the team's ability to communicate and work together at the same time as testing their physical endurance\, crowing the fittest team.\n\n\n\n \n\nDATE/TIME: Saturday 23 April 2011. Start time 0900hrs / End 1200hrs (approx.)\n\n\n\nLOCATION: Veteran's Park (Spain Park) on Valleydale Road in Hoover.\n\n\n\nTEAMS: Your fittest 4 men or women.\n\n\n\nCOST Per Team: $200.00. (All proceeds will be donated to the Shelby County American Red Cross)\n\n\n\nSWAG: Each competitor will receive an event specific "Competitor" t-shirt\, a Free entree from Texas Road House in Pelham\, available free massage at the event site\, along with other vendor donations as they are recruited.\n\n\n\nUNIFORM Per Competitor: Full Tactical gear to include\; boots\, pants\, tactical vest loaded (no ammunition)\, pro-mask\, "blow-out" Med pouch\, kevlar helmet\, primary and secondary weapon systems with sling (bolts will be removed). *Dress for this event as if your team was conducting an operation or warrant service. Proper supplies for hydration and energy.\n\n\n\n*A team medic is not required but always preferred.\n\n\n\nREGISTRATION INFO: Registration Forms and the Waiver and Release form should be printed\, then filled out and "hand carried" to Clint Umphrey at the Pelham location of Texas Road House (60 Drivers Way\, Pelham) or to Combat Fitness Training Facility (2048 Valleydale Terrace\, Hoover). S.O. pulled off a come from behind upset winning the entire event. The bar was set high and expectations for this year's event will be even higher.
