DESCRIPTION:Grebel Center for Dance\, 102 Commerce Parkway\, Pelham 35124 (behind the Purple Onion) is now taking registration the 2013-14 School Year for ages 3 and up.  We are located at the foothills of Oak Mountain State Park\, and right across Hwy. 31 from the Pelham Civic Complex.  For details\, go to www.grebeldance.com or call 205-987-7234.\n\n\n\nWe hold ourselves to a higher standard of teaching. Our students have gone on to dance at prestigious college programs\,and have been asked to join some the top dance companies in the world.  Our school is based on ballet education\, instead of rote learning for the recital.  We offer two major performances per year:  Stevan Grebel's The Nutcracker and a Spring Dance Concert.  The Nutcracker is cast by audition only\, and anyone can dance in the Spring Concert\, which is usually a production ballet with a an added taste of jazz and tap.\n\n\n\nBesides teaching ballet technique in the Russian Method of Vaganova and Messerer\, we also work privately with individuals and groups for dance teams who wish to advance their skills presentations.  Our students are so well trained\, and educated\, that they have a choice\, and not just a hobby.  We invite you to drop by and view our classes to see if we fit your needs.  Recreational dancers\, as well as baby ballerinas enjoy our wide variety of classes for the community.\n\n\n\nGrebel Dance is also home to The Alabama Youth Ballet\, a group of dancers who desire to be a part of a team and learn what it takes to be in a ballet company.  It is also supported by the Alabama Youth Ballet Guild and by the City of Pelham.  Dancers can audition for placement in the Junior or Senior Company in the spring and in the late summer.
