Author Event: Cassandra King Visits Pelham Public Library
Cassandra King will visit the Pelham Public Library February 22 at 2:00 p.m. Ms. King will talk about her four books, Making Waves, Same Sweet Girls, The Sunday Wife, and Queen of Broken Hearts as well as her upcoming new novel.
Whether it is a story about a preacher's wife, a young woman taking over her deceased aunt's beauty shop, a group of middle aged college friends at a reunion, or a therapist dealing with broken hearts, all of Cassandra King's books are set in the South. If some of the people or places sound familiar it may be because Cassandra King lived for some time in Shelby County in Montevallo.
Cassandra King has published stories and essays. She has taught college writing classes; conducted corporate writing seminars; worked as a human-interest reporter covering Pelham; and published an article on her second-favorite pastime, cooking, in Cooking Light magazine. A native of L.A. (Lower Alabama) she now lives in the Low country of South Carolina with her husband, novelist Pat Conroy.
Join us February 22 2:00-4:00 to hear her talk about her books, her outlook on life, and living in the south. Afterwards will be a book signing. Space is limited so call the library at 620-6418 to make a reservation. Seating is limited to the first 100 people who call.
