The Greater Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Shelby County Education Foundation are sponsoring A Taste of Shelby County on Thursday, October 16, 2008, from 6:30 until 9 pm at Jefferson State Community College – Valleydale Campus -- Spain Park entrance -- first building on the left.

You are invited to be a part of this effort to showcase area restaurants, wine merchants and food vendors. The Chamber strives to help our businesses be successful and we believe that this event will help spotlight your business and help increase traffic.  Click here for the Commitment Form.

There is no cost for participating restaurants other than the delectable dishes to be prepared to showcase at the event.  Restaurants are asked to provide a featured dish or perhaps a dish that they will introduce in the near future for patrons to “taste.” We also will have door prizes drawn throughout the evening and would appreciate a gift certificate donated from your establishment to be included.

Items to be provided for your convenience include:
*  two 6-foot tables with white tablecloths
    -- one for setup and preparation and one to decorate as you like for serving
    -- you may also use this table to display promotional items such as holiday specials or party catering or menus for patrons
* a tent card listing your name and information regarding the featured item
* plates, flatware and napkins
* each attendee will receive a souvenir wine glass to use throughout the evening.

We plan to sell 500 tickets for $35 which will go on sale beginning September 15, 2008. We also will design posters listing the participating restaurants and sponsors for display at area businesses. Therefore, we need to get a confirmation from you as soon as possible to get posters printed and distributed, and to include your information in publicity. Please complete the Commitment Form and return it as directed.
