American Red Cross - Motorcycle Ride for the Red
Birmingham Area Chapter to Host 2nd Annual "Ride for the Red" at 29 Dreams Motorcycle Resort.
Ride to be a "Welcome Home" party for families served through the American Red Cross Service to Armed Forces. Don Boomershine, Honorary Chair.
On March 21st, 2009 the Birmingham Area Chapter of the American Red Cross will host its second annual "Ride for the Red" motorcycle ride. This year’s event will honor Military personnel and their families who are often served through our American Red Cross Service to Armed Forces (SAF) program. The ride will begin in at our Shelby County Service Center and wind through central Alabama; concluding with a celebration for military families that includes food and entertainment at the "29 Dreams Resort".
This year, chapter workers will provide over 1,600 local U.S. military families with essential services such as emergency communications, pre-deployment briefings, financial support, transportation, and other resources. The Ride for the Red is proud to honor the dedication and service of men and women in the armed forces, while supporting their families left at home.
Information about how to sign up for the Ride can be found under "Information for Riders". We are also currently looking for sponsors. If you are looking for a little more details about events throughout the day, check out the "Event Details" page.
