Barfield, Murphy, Shank & Smith PC hosting American Red Cross Blood Drive
Blood drive is open to BMSS employees, families, clients, friends, etc... You are invited to join our efforts to save lives.
BMSS is hosting an American Red Cross Blood drive on Tuesday, July 20.
The American Red Cross has a constant need for blood and your contribution is important for a healthy and reliable blood supply.
Why donate blood?
• One donation can help save the lives of up to three people.
• Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood.
• More than 38,000 blood donations are needed every day.
• A total of 30 million blood components are transfused each year in the U.S. (2006).
• The blood used in an emergency is already on the shelves before the event occurs.
• A single car accident victim can require as many as 100 pints of blood.
• More than 1 million new people are diagnosed with cancer each year and many of them need blood during their chemotherapy treatments.
Need even more incentive to donate? All donors are eligible to win a $1,000 gift card and will receive their choice of one free green fees participating Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail facilities or an American Red Cross t-shirt.
Red Cross has as an online scheduling system to streamline the appointment process.
It will take less than 10 minutes to register and schedule appointment. Instructions detailed below.
STEP 2: You will be instructed to log-in.
A. Sponsor Code: BMSS
B. If you scheduled an American Red Cross blood donation through the site before, you may already have log-in information.
C. If not, click “First-time users create a profile”. The site will walk you through the steps of creating your secure, online profile.
STEP 3: Click either date (7/20/10) or Location (Barfield, Murphy, Shank & Smith Conference Room)
STEP 4: Select your appointment time from 10 am – 3:00 pm. Your appointment will last about an hour.
NOTE – if a time is not listed it has already been reserved.
STEP 5: You will get a confirmation you are scheduling your appointment time. (Option to add to your Outlook calendar available)
You can click on link in email to log back into your profile and change or cancel your appointment.
An email reminder will also be sent prior to the Blood Drive.
Please bring your Red Cross blood donor card or other form of positive ID when you come to donate.
