Shelby Humane Society (SHS) and Alabaster Parks and Recreation will host the fourth annual Bark in the Park on October 2nd from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m. at Veteran's Park in Alabaster. This free, fun filled day of activities will feature a variety of pet and family friendly events.
Festivities planned for Bark in the Park 2010, include:
-Mutt Strut, 1-mile pet walk
-Low-Cost Vaccine and Microchip Clinic (10 a.m. to 1p.m.)
-Agility Demonstrations- K9Einstein providing dog agility entertainment
-Flyball Demonstrations- Birmingham Bandits demonstrating a flyball course
-Pet adoptions
-Quick Fix Information, a low cost spay/neuter program
-Rescues and Runways Fashion Show-Sponsored by Maurice's
-Full Moon BBQ
-Music, crafts and more!
Mutt Strut registration forms are available at the shelter or by visiting www.firstgiving.com/shelbyhumane. A minimum $15 donation is required per walker and includes a t-shirt. Youth under the age of 16 and dogs accompanied by a registered adult are free. Only one dog per walker, please. Walkers are encouraged to create individual fundraising web pages to help increase donations for the shelter.
