On Friday, April 13, 2018, FOCUS On Recovery will host its 12th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Timberline Golf Club in Calera, Ala. The tournament will include a 4-person scramble, lunch, prizes, contests, an awards reception and silent auction. Registration opens at 7:00AM with a shotgun start at 8:00AM. All proceeds help FOCUS in its mission to provide women a clean and sober living environment that bridges the crucial period between primary treatment and lasting recovery. FOCUS On Recovery, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Hoover, Ala., has served over 900 women who have battled the disease of addiction. Alcohol and drug addiction is a serious problem that affects countless lives throughout the Nation. This crisis is also a local one, with Alabama having four (4) of the top 15 U.S. cities with the highest rate of opioid abuse in the United States. Deaths from heroin and opiates are at an epidemic level. For over 16 years, FOCUS On Recovery has been carrying forth its mission of giving hope and building a bridge to lasting recovery to defeat this disease, one woman at a time. FOCUS has developed a meaningful, real life recovery program for all its residents who are striving to attain and sustain recovery, build resilience, and work, learn, live, and participate fully in our communities. FOCUS proudly celebrates an 84% success rate. “The FOCUS Charity Golf Tournament will not only prove our commitment to decreasing the occurrence of this shockingly prevalent epidemic but will also benefit a truly worthy cause; saving women’s lives,” explained Jackie Batson, FOCUS’ Executive Director. “We are in the midst of a national crisis and our program is needed now more than ever. Sadly, addiction knows no boundaries as it crosses all socio-economic levels; however, we cannot do this alone.
