 Football Contest Gains Oak Mountain High School Student chance at $10,000 scholarship

One lucky student from Oak Mountain High School located in Shelby County, AL will get a chance to win $10,000 scholarship for college expenses. On Oct. 15, 2010 at the Oak Mountain Eagle’s homecoming game, an OMHS student will get three attempts to throw a football through a target to win the chance of skill contest. Sponsored by Mutual Savings Credit Union, the student will win $10,000 if any of the three attempts is successful. Even if they don’t hit the target, they will receive a $1,000 check to help with college expenses. Mutual Savings Credit Union has branded their partnership with Oak Mountain Eagles as Team Mutual. “We wanted to become a strong part of the Oak Mountain community. We know that college costs keep rising. We hope that the lucky student wins and gets a great start on paying for their college dreams,” stated President/CEO Douglas L. Key.

The student/contestant will have their name drawn Friday October 8^th during the game and will have one week to get ready for the challenge. Team Mutual looks forward to each home game where they hand out different spirit items to students, parents and fans. Mutual Savings Credit Union wanted to participate at the games and educate students and family members on financial matters. Oak Mountain High School Football Coach Jeff Harris stated, “We have enjoyed having Mutual Savings Credit Union as a corporate sponsor. It’s a fun and exciting way to win Team Mutual scholarship funds. With college tuition costs continually rising, $10,000 will really help defray the costs.”

On October 8, 2010 Team Mutual will announce the student who will get the chance for the chance of skill contest.
