This Middle Alabama Area Agency on Aging (M4A) has a wonderful, free opportunity for Seniors that are intersted in learning how to use the computer. The program, Generations On-Line, is a computer software geared toward the learning style of seniors. It is self paced and the instructor is a senior him/herself. The software teaches individuals how to research information (such as a medical condition), how to apply for jobs on line, how to set up an e-mail account and the overall basics of a computer.
This program is available at 2 locations in Shelby County, 3 in Walker County, 1 in Chilton and hopefully in Blount and St. Clair in the coming months. If you know of any seniors who would benefit from this program, please give them our phone number (1-866-570-2998). We can direct them to the coordinator in each county where they can set up a time to meet. This program is offered through our Senior Employment (Senior Aide) program and is federally funded.
