Gene Hallman to Be Roasted by CASA

Gene Hallman to Be Roasted by CASA

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Shelby County will honor Bruno Event Team and Alabama Sports Foundation Executive Gene Hallman for their annual Roast.

The roast will feature Paul Finebaum, Nick Sellers, Mike Raita and many more of Gene’s “friends,” all in the name of a charity that recruits and trains volunteers to go through the court process with abused and neglected children. Senator Jabo Waggoner will serve as honorary chairman of the event and Beth Chapman will be the Master of Ceremonies.

Who wouldn’t want to hear the man we all love to hate and hate to love - Paul Finebaum, roast anyone, much less Gene Hallman and in the middle of football season?  It doesn’t get any better than that!

The roast will be held on Tuesday, October 26th at the Wynfrey Hotel. A silent auction with multiple autographed sports items, golf outings and beach trips will begin at 6:00 P.M. with dinner and the roast beginning at 6:30. This is an event you don’t want to miss!

“Gene Hallman has done so much for the Birmingham Metropolitan area to increase economic growth and bring top quality events here that we owe him a great debt of gratitude,” said Helen Dean, President of the CASA Board of Directors.

Dean said the Gene Hallman Roast has been in the making for a long time and that CASA of Shelby County is fortunate that the roast follows a recent announcement made by Hallman that the Regions Tradition Golf Tournament will be held at Shoal Creek in Shelby County next year. “This gives us even more reason to celebrate the many successes of Mr. Hallman and all that he has contributed to economic development and sports entertainment in our county and our state.”

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that recruits and trains volunteers to go through the court process with abused and neglected children. CASA Volunteers advocate for the best interests of the children they serve in hopes of assisting in finding them a safe and permanent home.

Corporate sponsorships are still available. For more information regarding the roast and how you can participate as a sponsor, please call 995-4060. For more information about CASA, please visit casaofshelbycounty.org.
