Rising health care is, and will continue to be, a significant cost of doing business.  This forum will feature experts in the industry addressing, informing, and advising attendees about the options and strategies for managing, and even reducing the cost of providing health care benefits.  The forum is designed to educate and inform.  Employers of all sizes, as well as individuals, are encouraged to attend.

Managing the Skyrocketing Cost of Health Care is a forum focusing on health care that has been planned and developed by the Strategic Business Development Committee of THE PARTNERSHIP of the Greater Shelby County Chamber.

PSP - Plan Service Providers - James R. Ludwig, President

Mr. Ludwig has been in the health care field for 30 years, 22 of which have been in managed care. Mr. Ludwig’s extensive healthcare background has involved the public and private sector. He has led various types of managed care organizations and delivery systems.

Mr. Ludwig holds an M.P.H. from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and a B.A. from Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio.

Cumberland School of Law, Samford University - Leonard J. Nelson III, Professor

Expert in health care law, including regulation of managed care, HMOs, PPOs; medical malpractice; pharmacists’ liability; involuntary sexual sterilization of incompetents; international travel restrictions related to AIDS; HIV-infected health care workers’ tort liability; legal issues in treating terminally ill patients.
