Third Annual Fashion Show & Luncheon
To benefit the Shelby County Arts Council

 

The Culture, Novella, and Vignette Clubs of Columbiana will be hosting their third annual fashion show/luncheon on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Columbiana from 11:00 am -1:00 pm.  Fashions will be provided by Coldwater Creek and Strasburg Children. This event will help fund the outreach programs sponsored by the Shelby County Arts Council, the Art Abilities Program and Take Back Our Kids programs. 

 

Art Abilities provides for special needs children who are physically and/or mentally challenged. The instructor spends 1-2 hours a week with projects that improve motor skills and critical thinking skills. Through grants this program is offered at Elvin Hill Elementary, Meadow View Elementary, Creek View Elementary, and Chelsea High School. Plans are to extend this program in all elementary schools.

 

Take Back Our Kids provides photography and the basics of drawing for at risk children in middle and high school.   They are also studying “Roots of Blues,” and learning to play blues music on the harmonica. This program is offered to the Shelby County Alternative School and the Shelby County.
