Healthy Hoover Lifestyle Campaign Kick Off

City of Hoover, Hoover City Schools and Princeton Hoover are implementing a Healthy Hoover Lifestyle.  The goal is for all Hoover employees and residents to participate in the program and modify their diets and get moving to become healthier.  The Six-1 Challenge is a nine-week program with a community goal to log 1,000,000 minutes of exercise.  Visit the website at www.healthyhooverlifestyle.org to register to participate and obtain more information.

The Kick-Off for the campaign will be held Monday, March 31st at 6:00 pm at VeteransPark on Valleydale located in front of SpainParkHigh School.  The first 500 people will receive a free Six-1 Challenge t-shirt!  To learn more, please join us Monday night at VeteransPark!
Mayor Tony Petelos will be walking at VeteransPark on Valleydale every Thursday morning at 6:30 am beginning April 3rd.  I hope you will join me!  Click here to read the flyer:  Healthy Hoover Lifestyle.

How to Participate
It's simple!

Register online  - it's not absolutely necessary, but it helps you make a committment to yourself and to your community. It also helps us develop the Healthy Hoover Lifestyle program and gauge its effectiveness. You will receive weekly articles on health, nutrition, and fitness in your inbox (optional).
Fill out a commitment card. Keep it on your refrigerator or in a prominent location so you see it every day.
Attend Healthy Hoover Six-1 Challenge Events, read the website articles, but most importantly - GET MOVING!
Log your minutes to help us reach our goal!
Celebrate your success at the Healthy Hoover 5K on May 31st!
Keep it going - don't stop moving. June 1st - 06/01 - keep moving!

Some Important Notes:
The Six-1 Challenge is open to all ages and all abilities.
You do NOT have to be a Hoover resident to participate.
Please consult your physician before beginning a diet or exercise program.
