Volunteers are needed to help with an Outdoor Alabama Expo at Oak Mountain State Park. On Friday, May 1st (8:30 am to 2:00 pm) there will be between 1,000 to 1,500 4 – 8th graders from Shelby and Jefferson counties. On Saturday, May 2nd (8:30 am to 5 pm), 7,000 to 10,000 people are expected to attend the Expo.
People interested in assisting with the Expo whether they can work one day or two will need to contact Maurice Jackson (see info below). Volunteers will receive a free Outdoor Alabama Expo T-shirt.
For more information about the Expo, follow the link http://www.outdooralabama.com/outdoor-adventures/expo/. The Expo is a 2-day event (Friday and Saturday) and at least 50 volunteers are needed to assist in the fishing area. Saturday, May 2nd, is the only day the Expo is open to the public and Friday’s event is set aside for 1,000 to 1,500 4 – 8th graders.
If you can't volunteer your time, but want to volunteer lunch, that is needed for 65 people each day (or at least offer it at a reduced rate).
