In this two part workshop students will learn about the qualities of metal and the tools needed to make beautiful wearable art from experienced jewelry artist Carrington Wilson! Part 1 is an introduction to basic metal working tools: pliers, hammers, and shears. Using those simple tools students will make french ear wires, wire-wrap beads and cuff bracelets.
In part 2 students will push into more advanced metal techniques. Adding a vise, torch, and drill students will learn how to fold and shape metal. This section includes an intro to stamping, riveting, patinas, painting metal with heat, sewing beads, and lashing.
Participants will take home an assortment of handmade earrings, pendants, bracelets, and rings! All supplies are provided for this class but students are welcome to bring any jewelry making tools they already have. This workshop is a great opportunity to make early Christmas presents or something special for yourself!
