8th Annual Greystone 5K and Lori Johnson 1M Fun Run to Raise Funds for Ovarian Cancer Research

Overall winners receive cash and prizes!  All children participating in the fun run will receive a medallion as they cross the finish line.  Following the race there will be a silent auction with fantastic prizes which include a weeks stay at the Steamboat Grand in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, 2 three night stays in luxury beach properties in Destin, golf packages donated by the finest local golf courses and a three course in home dinner party for 10 people provided by one of the hottest chefs in town, Robby Melvin of Salt Fine Catering.  Bring the kids and pets!  There will also be delicious food, pool games, entertainment and fun for the entire family! 

The Greystone 5K & Lori Johnson 1M Fun Run is held annually in memory of Lori Johnson. Lori was a healthy woman who rarely had any health problems. Because she was unaware of the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, her disease was advanced by the time it was diagnosed.  Our hope is that through the Lori Johnson Fun Run we keep Lori's memory alive and make a difference in the lives of other women. Proceeds from this event benefit the Norma Livingston Ovarian Cancer Foundation.  The mission of the NLOCF is to promote awareness about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer and raise much needed funds for research.

Ovarian cancer is the deadliest of all gynecologic cancers and the 5^th leading cause of cancer deaths among American women.  One in 71 women will suffer from ovarian cancer and more than 21,000 American women are diagnosed each year.  Only 24% of ovarian cancers are detected in the early stages and as a result every 37 minutes a woman dies of this disease. Help us change these statistics by participating in this fun-filled family event!
