Go and Grow Workshop: Recruiting and Keeping Great Talent with Tom McLeod
Great companies are made up of great people. How can you attract them, and how do you get them to stick around? Come and learn how one company has done it, growing from one employee in 1985 to over 500 today. Hint: a ping pong table and a beer tap will not get you there. Tom McLeod, President and CEO of McLeod Software, will share his insights on creating a great company culture. The workshop will be held October 31 at the Shelby County Chamber - facilitated by Entrepreneur in Residence, Michael Smith.
Tom McLeod is the President and Chief Executive Officer of McLeod Software, which he founded in 1985. The company has grown to over 500 employees and is Birmingham's largest software development company. Tom has long been active in the American Trucking Associations, the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA), and the Alabama Trucking Association and has held leadership positions in the same. He is a thought leader in the transportation industry, specifically on the use of current and upcoming information technology to support trucking and freight brokerage operations. Tom is a past Chairman of the TCA Scholarship Fund, past Board President of the Birmingham Boys Choir, and current Chairman of the Alabama Trucking Association. Tom graduated from W. A. Berry High School in 1972 and from Samford University (cum laude) in 1976. He is active at Valleydale Church and has been married to his wife, Annette, for 41 years.
There is no cost to attend, however, a boxed lunch is available for $10 for investors and $20 future investors. Please RSVP by noon October 30.
