Greater Shelby Chamber Quarterly Industry Tour Set for December 5 at the Alabama Power Generating Plant

Join the Chamber's Existing Business and Industry Work Group on Thursday, December 5 from 9:00AM until 11:AM for its final Quarterly Industry Tour for 2013 at the Alabama Power Generating Plant.  This is an opportunity to learn how electricity is generated from coal or other fuels as well and includes a tour viewing the main pieces of equipment that make up a coal fired plant

Guests need to arrive on-site at 9:00AM at the Alabama Power Generating Plant, 31972 Hwy 25 N. Wilsonville, AL  35186.  Directions:  Take I-65 South to Exit 228 (Timberline Golf Club Exit), pass Timberline Golf Club and turn right onto Hwy. 25. Follow Hwy. 25 to Wilsonville and continue onward until you see 456, Alabama Power's Ernest C. Gaston Electric Engineering Plant on your right.

What is the Existing Business & Industry Work Group?  The Existing Industry & Business Work Group recognizes and supports local industries through quarterly tours, legislative actions, seminars and other appropriate means. The Work Group organizes the annual Industry Appreciation Event held in February. The Work Group meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month @ 9:00AM @ Barge, Waggoner, Sumner & Cannon, Inc.
