Greater Shelby Chamber Quarterly Industry Tour to be Held at Grede

Join the Chamber's Existing Industry & Business Work Group at its first Quarterly Industry Tour of 2015 on April 16. The Industry Tour -- sponsored by Barge, Waggoner, Sumner & Cannon -- will be held from 9:00AM until 11:00AM at Grede, 130 Industrial Park Road, Columbiana, AL 35051-9359.  Participants are asked to meet on-site to tour the facility.

The iron foundry uses the Lost Foam Casting process to create parts for the automotive, heavy truck, agricultural and construction equipment markets.

Grede is the largest manufacturing employer in Columbiana.  This specific operation dates back to the early ‘60’s when it began as Simsco.  Today, their customers are some of the most recognized and successful equipment manufacturers in the world.

On your visit, there will be a short brief on the overall business followed by a walking tour of the facilities.  Reservations are requested by April 13 and the tour is limited to 20 attendees.  Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis and can be made by contacting Brooke Story at 663-4542, ext. 105, email brooke@shelbychamber.org or register online above.
