Joanne Fogle, Winner of the 2012 Juried Art Show, will exhibit at the Shelby County Arts Council in March 2013.  

Joanne Fogle captured the Best of Show prize for her oil painting titled “Woods in Winter”. This is her first solo exhibit as a professional artist. Joanne spends her creative time in her studio at Artists on the Bluff in Bluff Park, Alabama.

Joanne Fogle was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1959. She attended University of Montevallo for three years in the late 1980’s. While attending Montevallo, Joanne won Excellence awards in both painting and printmaking and was accepted in the 1990 Southern Graphics Council Traveling Two Year Exhibition. After completing three years at the University of Montevallo, she assumed a career as a full-time visual merchandiser for a local department store. Joanne returned to the Montevallo campus as an artist-in-residence to complete work on the Alabama Big Print project in 2002. The work from this project toured the state for two years and is placed in the permanent collections of the University of Montevallo and the Alabama School

The opening reception for this event is Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The exhibit runs through March 29, 2013. The reception and exhibit is free and open to the public.
