The new Oak Mountain State Park Equestrian Campground will hold its official grand opening/media day on May 21, 2011 at 11:00 am. Oak Mountain State Park Staff would like to invite everyone out for this great addition to our state park.

 The campsites will be available for rent beginning on 20 May 2011.

The camp is available on a “first come first serve” basis. “Travelling” campers without horses will also be able to utilize this campground for 1 night only.  

The campground is nestled within the 9,940 acres of Oak Mountain State park. It has 12 sites: Each site will accommodate a maximum of eight persons with two vehicles, and one trailer. Rates are $30.00 a night on weekdays and $35.00 on weekends and major holidays.

All sites have 50 amp service, water and sewer hook ups, dump station for horse waste, fire rings, and picnic tables.

Registration can be made upon arrival at the front gate of Oak Mountain State Park.

Oak Mountain State Park also offers 14 miles of horse riding trails, 10 cabins, fishing in one of our 3 public lakes, championship golf course, walking trails, petting farm, campground, and several nature programs.
