The San Augustine County Chamber of Commerce will present its 27th Annual Sassafras Festival and Celebration of the Tricentennial of the Mission Dolores on Saturday, October 28 from 10-5 on the historic downtown. The recently restored 1919 jail,now a Law Enforcement Museum, will be open for tours all day, in addition to the old time barber shop. All day entertainment, featuring Shane Cooley and Band, a hot band from Austin, and Charles Delaney, a favorite of all. Arts and crafts, multicultural food, barrel train, pet costume contest, Halloween costume contest, car show and contest, art and photography contest and many other activities.
