Tour de Cure - American Diabetes Association
Be part of the American Diabetes Association's movement to Stop Diabetes by riding in the annual Tour de Cure, a series of fundraising cycling events held in 44 states nationwide.
Tour is a ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone: occasional riders, families and experienced cyclists. With five options ranging from 5 miles to 102 miles, every route is supported with rest stops, food to fuel the journey, and fans to cheer on riders.
This year, the Alabama Tour de Cure will be held on June 13, 2015 at the University of Montevallo. The Tour de Cure raises funds to support research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes; to deliver diabetes programs and credible information about diabetes to individuals in communities across the country; and to give voice to people facing discrimination because of diabetes.
To register or to find out more about Tour de Cure, call the American Diabetes Association 205-870-5172 x3070 or visit us at www.diabetes.org/touralabama.
Join as a cyclist, a day of event volunteer or join the committee to help plan - we need YOU! Red Riders. A Red Rider is someone living with diabetes who rides in the Tour de Cure. Red Riders know what it means to have diabetes and they want others to understand that diabetes is a serious disease that can't be ignored. Red Riders are joining the movement to Stop Diabetes by raising awareness of diabetes and participating in the Tour de Cure events across the country including Montevallo. If you have diabetes, you are eligible to become a Red Rider. All you need to do is register at www.diabetes.org/touralabama
